THE MASSACRE OF KINGDOM
I got to head overseas to help hype the Season Two launch of Korea’s most popular zombie show: Kingdom. After six months of presentations the show was brought to life in a real-world historical fiction Joseon Era ‘museum experience’ with a horrifying twist.
Role: Concept + Copy + a ‘lil Art (Sr. Creative)
We sold-in the idea with a treatment style format (Linked Here) to help our clients walk through the journey of our proposed experience.
A mockumentary about a recent ‘shocking archaeological discovery’ and an exclusive influencer bath bomb built hype for the pre-launch of the exhibition.
Invites, tickets, and an exhibition brochure were created to make the experience feel true to life for visitors.
The copy itself was written in museum and anthropologic vernacular; requiring a deep dive into Joseon Era history. It was both educational and extremely interesting to learn about.
The ‘exhibition’ was presented as reality in Seoul’s Songwan Art Center using props from the show as ‘artifacts.’ Guests walked through a chronology of the Joseon Era; complete with museum style captions written in specific English (for Korean transcreation) for each piece.
As patrons made their way to the end of the exhibit they were shocked with a terrifying artifact twist: the preserved ‘undead’ on-display. Each group experienced a ‘malfunction’ where the zombies’ cryo-freezer failed; bringing them instantly to life.
